Rediscover Singapore - NUS Baba House

Came across a blue house along with at 157 Neil Road it is called Baba House is a museum showcasing Singapore Peranakan history, architecture and heritage. It is a Peranakan pre-war terrace house formerly owned by a 19th Century shipping Tycoon Wee Bin who settled down in Singapore after arriving from Fujian China. The said house was built around 1895, the house was acquired in 2006 with funds donated by Agnes Tan in memory of her late father Tun Tan Cheng Lock. Restoration works in 2007 and officially opened in 2008, more than 100 years later it is a unique resource for research and exploration into the Straits Chinese heritage, architecture, urban conservation and preservation and restoration.

Rediscover Singapore - Former Bottle Tree Park

Known for its bottle shape tree located Lorong Chengchar near Yishun and within walking from Khatib MRT Station, it is a recreational complex with prawning and fishing pond plus a trampoline park and a go-karting track. Today it is called ORTO @ Yishun without the bottle trees but a new park retains the old charm.

It serves as a major park in Singapore located in the heartland of Bishan and Ang Mo Kio it consisted of a dog run, pond garden, car parks and a site office and also the famous sculpture called Recycle Hill.

Rediscover Singapore - Chinatown Market

This market was opened in 1983 as the Kreta Ayer Complex and was renamed Chinatown Complex but still retained its mandarin name Niu Che Shui Da Sha with Niu Che Shui being the local name for Chinatown which literally means Bullock Cart Water, It was built to house the last of Chinatown street hawkers and is still home to a number of hawkers who have been plying their trade in the area since the 1950s. Consequently, it has earned a reputation as the destination for traditional Chinese hawker cuisine. It also features design elements such as clay-tiled pitched roofs, column bays and small balconies which pay tribute to the architectural facades of Chinatown. With around 700 stalls the Chinatown Market is Singapore's largest hawker centre and the market today. 

Rediscover Singapore - Toa Payoh Town Park

Toa Payoh Town Garden was completed in 1973 with an observation tower and a landscape pond with willowing trees it is a favourite for outdoor wedding photography during the seventies it was partially closed in 1999 to make way for a temporary bus interchange. After the new Toa Payoh Bus Interchange and the HDB Hub was completed in 2002, and the temporary bus interchange was converted into a landscape park and Toa Payoh Town Garden was subsequently called Toa Payoh Town Park.

Standing tall at a height of 165 metres it was world's tallest ferries wheels with the giant observation wheels at Downtown Singapore, its construction took as long as two and half years to complete and the public was treated to a soft opening on March the first 2008 and finally officially open in April that year with our Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong was the guest of honour. One can enjoy a bird eyes view of the Marina Bay Area, our Cityscape and the neighbouring island during day and night.
