Rediscover Singapore - NUS Baba House

Came across a blue house along with at 157 Neil Road it is called Baba House is a museum showcasing Singapore Peranakan history, architecture and heritage. It is a Peranakan pre-war terrace house formerly owned by a 19th Century shipping Tycoon Wee Bin who settled down in Singapore after arriving from Fujian China. The said house was built around 1895, the house was acquired in 2006 with funds donated by Agnes Tan in memory of her late father Tun Tan Cheng Lock. Restoration works in 2007 and officially opened in 2008, more than 100 years later it is a unique resource for research and exploration into the Straits Chinese heritage, architecture, urban conservation and preservation and restoration.
