On 29th March the funeral of the late Lee Kuan Yew was held and crowds brave the heavy rain along the funeral route taking him from Parliament House through City Hall, Central Business District, Housing Estate and onward to the Mandai Crematorium. It was a sombre National Day on the 9th of August to celebrate SG50 without Lee Kuan Yew for the first time.
