Annually the temple opens its crematorium for the public to offer incense and prayer during Qingming Festival and during the 7th month Hungary Ghost Festival. The temple had its beginning at Upper Changi Road and later was relocated to their present location.

 This is a Buddhist Temple and Monastery located in Bishan it was built during 1920, in 1947 Rev Hong Choon became the monastery abbot under his leadership, the complex expanded from two shrine hall to include the Pagoda 10,000 Buddhas. In 1980 Evergreen Bright Hill home was established and in 2004 Kwang Sengbecamethe present abbot, today the modern-day monastery consists of stupas, prayers halls, crematorium and columbarium which house over 200,000 niches and within the compound are the bell and drum tower, a statue of Avalokitesvara, Hong Choon memorial hall, and a large bronze statue of Buddha standing at the height of 13.8 metres and weigh 55 tons is the largest in Asia. Vesak Day is celebrated annually with a variety of ceremonies such as Bathing the buddha and 3 steps1 bow and other major events include the Qingming Festival.

Came across a blue house along with at 157 Neil Road it is called Baba House is a museum showcasing Singapore Peranakan history, architecture and heritage. It is a Peranakan pre-war terrace house formerly owned by a 19th Century shipping Tycoon Wee Bin who settled down in Singapore after arriving from Fujian China. The said house was built around 1895, the house was acquired in 2006 with funds donated by Agnes Tan in memory of her late father Tun Tan Cheng Lock. Restoration works in 2007 and officially opened in 2008, more than 100 years later it is a unique resource for research and exploration into the Straits Chinese heritage, architecture, urban conservation and preservation and restoration.
