Rediscover Singapore - An Evening at Haji Lane

Went down to Haji Lane this evening (10th Feb) to explore the Kampong Glam neighbourhood of Singapore, the so call young people frequent the shophouses along the small lane for the independent fashion boutiques and middle eastern cafe and drinking holes. The shophouses were commonly used as lodges for Haji pilgrims to Mecca. from 1900 till 1960, and from 1960 onward they provide a home for poorer Malay families and from 1970 the whole of Haji Lane was used mostly as storages spaces, and later on, converted to the present state.
